The role of a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP) are trained to assess and support people with common mental health problems. This is a varied and rewarding role, where you will be supporting people to achieve positive outcomes and manage their recovery. As a PWP, you can make a real difference to peoples' lives. You will support people by carrying out assessments, helping people to identify areas where they want to change how they feel, think or behave. You will provide support through one-to-one appointments, groups, and workshops, and gain experience of assessing and working with people who are experiencing a wide variety of mental health needs. You will be provided with regular, ongoing supervision to support you in your role. Within your role as a PWP, you will have access to additional CPD which is tailored to your own interests, needs, and professional development. You will also have the opportunity to work with and learn from different professionals across NHS Talking Therapies, including shadowing opportunities to support development. You'll also have the opportunity to liaise with external organisations to expand your knowledge of local services and to support individual to access external support.
