MHM evidence published by the Health and Social Care Committee Inquiry Mental Health Matters have had their evidence published by the Health and Social Care Committee Inquiry into Community Mental Health Services. In the submission, the organisation supported changes to the mental health assessment tool, to be implemented across government, alongside leading calls for the new mental health hub programme to alleviate estate pressures on NHS mental health partner providers. Commenting on behalf of Mental Health Matters, Sarah Wileman, Director for Development said: "The organisation is proud to have contributed to numerous inquiries and consultations over the past few years, and Community Mental Health Services are an area where our insight after over 40 years of experience of providing support will be invaluable. As an established and respected provider of crisis support services, Mental Health Matters recognise there are still policy blockers that prevent people who access services receiving support tailored to their needs. We are hopeful that our policy recommendations will go some way to transform the way people access mental health support, and the quality of support when they do. We thank the Chair, Layla Moran, and the Health and Social Care Committee for their consideration of this integral area. It's crucial that we get mental health policymaking right and we look forward to the committee's final report and recommendations." You can find the link to the Mental Health Matters submission here.
