I feel privileged to join Mental Health Matters at such a pivotal moment, as we launch our Proud Past, Bold Future strategy.

The organisation should take immense pride in all it has achieved in recent years.

In my short time here, I've already met some remarkable people and was delighted to help select a "Colleague of the Season" from over 300 inspiring nominations - each one demonstrating the charity's values in action.

I am energised by our ambitions for the future. A bold vision - that everyone can access support for their mental health to live a meaningful life, in a society free from stigma - requires equally bold action. The strategy focuses where Mental Health Matters can make the biggest difference, as a leader in alternatives to crisis and a key provider of employment support and Talking Therapies. I'm also pleased to see a commitment to working in partnership and moving into new areas, using the charity's decades of experience to help address some of the biggest gaps that exist today, including supporting people who are neurodivergent.

I hope I can bring my experience from leading both not-for-profit and private organisations to support and champion these ambitions. I truly feel welcomed and am excited to be part of this new chapter in Mental Health Matters' journey.
