Our Fundraising Impact Throughout 2025, we introduced new ways for people to get involved, from Tough Mudder and the Ultra Challenge to the London to Brighton Cycle Ride and the Manchester Half Marathon. Thanks to the dedication of our fundraisers and supporters, 13 local projects have already been delivered this year, with several more in development, including a new schizophrenia working group led by Sarah Wileman. Here is a snapshot of the impact made possible through the generosity of our fundraisers and donors. Easington Community Project Easington is among the most deprived areas in the UK, with high youth unemployment and low incomes. Fundraising support has enabled the Easington Employment service to deliver initiatives that build confidence, reduce loneliness and improve access to employment. A volunteer-led café has opened within Healthworks, providing a welcoming space that hosts a job club and a peer support group for women. Planned developments include themed café days, a weekly fruit and vegetable stall, provider drop-in sessions and a food bank. To tackle digital exclusion, the team now has six tablets available across County Durham, helping jobseekers complete online applications, which was previously a significant challenge for those relying solely on mobile phones. The service can also provide smart interview clothing, ensuring individuals feel confident and prepared when attending interviews. Confidence to Work Group The Confidence to Work Group was created for individuals who lack the confidence to begin their employment journey. Two nine-week programmes have already been completed, with further programmes planned due to strong demand. Sessions included volunteering opportunities, travel confidence training, wellbeing workshops, creative projects and personal development activities, all designed to build skills and self-belief. Following the success of the first programme, participants requested a peer support group that launched in May 2025 and now supports nine people, with further funding secured to introduce a dedicated peer support role from May 2026. One participant shared, "The MHM Women’s Confidence Group has helped me in ways I can’t even put into words. Because of the support and help of the group, I have found and started a job, set up a DND group and started making and altering clothes again. This wouldn’t have been possible without this support." LGBTQIA+ Support The Moorings in Exeter provides a safe, non-clinical space for individuals seeking mental health support. Additional fundraising has enabled the development of a six-session self-referral peer group specifically for LGBTQIA+ individuals. The group offers a safe and supportive environment where participants can share experiences, build connections and access mutual support. Supporting Young People's Mental Health We were delighted to sponsor Gabriella Ford, a U15 Middlesbrough football player whose dedication to the sport supports her wellbeing from a young age. Our sponsorship enables her to continue developing both physically and mentally, and we are proud to see our charity logo on her strip each time she plays and trains. Supporting young people to stay active and pursue their passions plays an important role in promoting positive mental health. Supporting Recovery Fundraising has enabled the Tunbridge Wells Safe Haven to enhance its environment with softer lighting, sensory items such as weighted blankets, and improved resources for peer groups. These enhancements help create a calming space that reduces isolation and promotes wellbeing for those accessing support. Manage Cookie Preferences
