Empowering women through mental health support and employment Each year on 8 March, we celebrate and honour women's achievements and advocate for equality. Munday Coren, Senior Employment Advisor, has written about the importance of employment and mental health support for women. "As an employment advisor, I've seen firsthand the challenges that women face in the workforce, especially when mental health is a barrier to pursuing or maintaining employment. International Women's Day is a time to not only celebrate the achievements of women but also to reflect on the work still needed to ensure that all women, regardless of their mental health status, have access to the opportunities they deserve." "Women often face unique pressures, from balancing caregiving roles to navigating workplaces that may not fully support their well-being. Mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and stress, can further complicate the journey to employment or career advancement. We must provide spaces where women can seek help and access the resources they need to thrive, both mentally and professionally." "At Mental Health Matters, we are committed to supporting women through these challenges. Whether it’s providing guidance on how to navigate workplace stress, supporting mental health recovery, or helping women find work that aligns with their skills and needs, we’re here every step of the way. We celebrate the strength of every woman who has taken the brave step toward improving their mental health and seeking employment." "This day serves as a reminder that women’s mental health is just as important as their physical health, and they deserve workplaces that are supportive, understanding, and equitable. We continue to advocate for women’s mental health and work towards creating a future where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed and feel empowered in their careers." "Together, we can help women not only find jobs but build fulfilling careers while prioritising their mental health. This International Women’s Day, let’s continue to break the stigma and create a world where women’s well-being and employment opportunities go hand in hand." Manage Cookie Preferences
