Today, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt has delivered his Spring Budget before Parliament with very few announcements to support those with a mental health support needs.

Responding on behalf of the charity, Jane Hughes, Chief Executive Officer of Mental Health Matters said "Whilst any additional funding for the NHS will alleviate some of the pressure placed on services, it's unclear what proportion of funding will be allocated to mental health services at a time when additional resource is crucial to enable services to flourish.

We are hopeful that any future budget will take a greater focus on mental health, recognising the importance of the support offered by mental health services and the pressures faced by evolving pathways and expanding responsibilities."
